The Minister of State, Labour & Employment Festus Keyamo has given a new update regarding to the payment of the FG SPW 774000 Job Programme beneficiaries.

According to the Minister, the National Directorate of Employment has commenced Partial Payments of the FG SPW 774000 Jobs Programme beneficiaries stipends.

(1) After the release of some of the funds by the Ministry of Finance for the payment of SPW stipends, I directed rigorous scrutiny of the accounts of the participants before payments.

(2) We discovered instances of accounts not matching BVNs, multiple accounts bearing a single BVN, non-existent BVNs etc.

(3.) Because of our determination to eliminate fraud, | further directed the NDE to write to the banks to clean up these anomalies b4 commencing payments.

(4). So far, only ACCESS Bank has responded with accounts verified for payments and the NDE has today commenced payments of those accounts with ACCESS Bank

(5) We await the responses of ZENITH, UBA, FCMB, FIDELITY, HERITAGE and Yobe Micro-Finance Banks to clean up the anomalies

(6) Our determination to ensure those selected for this programme get paid to assist them in these tough times is also matched by our determination to ensure that the programme does not spiral into a vehicle for fraud; not under the watch of Mr President; not under my watch.

For the benefit of those who are not well versed with the function of the 774,000 NDE job, I am going to give a brief overview before I will talk on the application process.

774,000 NDE Job Recruitment Update 2021

The federal government has announced that it will finally commence the implementation of the special job initiative which is designed to employ 774,000 Nigerians on February 2021.

ABOUT NDE 77,400 JOBS RECRUITMENT 2021

The 1,000 persons to be recruited per LGA will be engaged by the Federal Government between February 2021 to carry out public works that are peculiar to each Local Government Area.

They would be paid a total of N60,000 each (that is N20,000 per month) for 90 days. They would be engaged in roads rehabilitation and social housing construction, urban and rural sanitation, health extension and other critical services

NB: The programme could be extended or repeated every year.

After the selection process of those to be engaged, they still have to be captured by some selected banks and their BVNs obtained. This is because Mr President has directed that everyone must be paid through their BVNs to eliminate fraud in the programme.

As a result, all the States’ Selection Committees have just three weeks to complete the selection process and return the names of those selected to us for further processing with the banks.

We believe that if the Committees adhere strictly to the Guidelines given to them, they are bound to achieve the targets set by Mr President to reach out to 774,000 Nigerians who are largely indigent and itinerant workers.

Unemployed youths and individuals who are interested in the 774000 empowerment exercise are hereby informed to contact their various state committees members for information on the registration exercise.
